   Home      Hampton Inn San Diego

I had sent an e-mail some time ago with the dates of April 12, 13, 14 2011 for our next reunion in San Diego, California.  From the response I received back these dates were workable for all but one and they may be able to work it out.  I actually got in trouble with my granddaughter as she wanted to go and will still be in school but these dates are about as late in the spring that we could schedule and still be able to get seasonal rates.

I was able to get an even better rate than previously announced as well as a complementary hospitality room.  The room rate is $92 plus taxes and the hotel will give us this same rate for a couple of days before and after our reunion dates.  Below are some of the particulars for our hotel.

The Hampton Inn San Diego Airport/Sea World, in San Diego, CA is very pleased to submit the following Letter of Agreement to Head Quarters Company 9th Marines.

INDIVIDUAL CALL-IN:

If reservations are to be made by individual call-in, please instruct your attendees to call reservations directly at 619-299-6633 and identify themselves as attending Head Quarters Company 9th Marines.  There is a 24-hour cancellation policy on all reservations.  “No Shows” will be charged one (1) night’s room and tax.  All reservations must be guaranteed by either valid credit card or one night’s deposit.

The hotel has also set up a webpage specifically for us if you prefer to make reservations that way, I made my reservations using it to see how user friendly it was and it was okay.  Be sure to enter your e-mail address and they will send you a confirmation letter.  Here is the link for making reservation by internet:

http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/groups/personalized/SANGWHX-HQC-20110411/index.jhtml?WT.mc_id=POG

Please let me know when you make your reservations so I can keep tally of remaining rooms.  Also if you hope to attend please make your reservation early as I only blocked 30 rooms and if we may need more the sooner I know the easier it will be to request more rooms.

I have used Hampton Inn several times and my experience with them has all been positive, this particular one is centrally located for our interests and has been more than helpful while negotiating with them.  They only offer non-smoking rooms which I hope is acceptable to all, I’m not sure if they even allow smoking of cigarettes in California you may have to go to a neighboring state to smoke.  Also our hotel does not have a pets policy, I didn’t notice this until after I had committed to them.

As with all our reunions we will do our best to contain costs.  We do have one of our own that lives in San Diego (Warren Brazas) that will be able to coordinate our activities while there.  I’ll be talking to him soon.  For sure we will schedule t trip to MCRD which is very close to our hotel.

If you have any questions please contact me.
